BioDr. Ferguson is a Science and Technology Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. Previously, he worked as Scientist-in-Residence in the Washington, D.C., office of the Monterey Institute’s Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) where he co-directed a project that assessed how to prevent and respond to nuclear and radiological terrorism. Dr. Ferguson has served as a Foreign Affairs Officer in the Bureau of Nonproliferation at the Department of State. He has also worked on nuclear proliferation and arms control issues as a Senior Research Analyst and Director of the Nuclear Policy Project at the Federation of American Scientists. Dr. Ferguson served as an officer on a fleet ballistic missile submarine and studied nuclear engineering at the Naval Nuclear Power School. He is the co-author of The Four Faces of Nuclear Terrorism.
