Brooke Van Dam is an Associate Professor and Faculty Director of the MPS in Journalism at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Brooke came to DC after a post as Associate Professor of Communication Studies and the Journalism Program Coordinator at Azusa Pacific University. She received her PhD in Media Sociology from City University London and her Masters in International Journalism from the University of Westminster. Her PhD, which was completed in 2010, focused on the changing practices of journalists that work to create news for a web and mobile audience.

Brooke also worked as an international education correspondent for Fenews.co.uk while in London. Later, in 2012, she worked in Web Production for Southern California Public Radio.
