Professor Montano previously was an assistant professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She has also served as a lecturer with the Department of Operations and Information Management at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She received a special merit award from the University of Maryland Baltimore County's Department of Information Systems and was a University of Pennsylvania nominee for the Council of Graduate Schools/University Microfilm International Distinguished Dissertation Award. More recently, Professor Montano has served as co-principal investigator for research projects funded by the Naval Postgraduate School, the U.S. Social Security Administration, and the Health Care Financing Administration.
