Professor Brewer specializes in issues associated with climate change, including the intersections of climate change issues with international trade, technology transfer and investment issues. His publications include numerous articles in the refereed journal Climate Policy as well as chapters in books published by Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press and other leading publishers. He has made presentations on climate change issues at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) in London, the European Union and the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels, the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) in Tokyo, the 2005 COP/MOP climate change conference in Montreal, and the Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome, as well other conferences for academic, business and government audiences. During 2006, he gave a series of lectures at universities and think tanks in Germany. He has authored or edited numerous books and published articles in a wide range of refereed journals on international business issues, including trade and investment issues at the World Trade Organization (WTO). For five years, he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Business Studies, a leading academic journal for interdisciplinary social science studies. He has been a consultant to the World Bank (including IFC and MIGA), the United Nations (UNCTAD), and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). He is an Associate Professor at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business in Washington, DC, and an Associate Fellow of the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels.
