Bio

Aneta Wierzynska the Senior Policy Director of Transparency International USA. Previously she worked at the World Bank Department of Institutional Integrity as a lead writer for investigations that identified corruption in World Bank Projects. Prior to this, she practiced International Trade Law at the law firm of Hogan & Hartson, LLP. She has worked in post-conflict countries in Africa , focusing primarily on the relationship between customary law and transitional justice. In Sierra Leone , Ms. Wierzynska conducted a study of tribal law to guide rule of law reform efforts, and she worked with the International Center for Transitional Justice on the perceptions of ex-combatants towards the Special Court and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. In Rwanda , Ms. Wierzynska worked for the domestic prosecution service, observing from the inside how justice against the genocide is waged in domestic and customary courts. Ms. Wierzynska has also spent extensive time in Poland , working for the Committee for European Integration and McKinsey & Co. during Poland 's transition and entry into the European Union. Ms. Wierzynska is a graduate of NYU Law School and Yale College.
