Bio

Andrés Vinelli is Chief Economist and Deputy Director at the Office of Research and Analysis for PCAOB, a nonprofit regulatory organization that oversees the auditors of public companies in order to protect the interests of investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, fair and independent audit reports. He manages the Surveillance team, the Business Intelligence group and the Quantitative Modeling group at the Office of Research and Analysis.

Before his current position, he was the Chief Economist at the Financial Industry regulatory Authority (FINRA). In the past, he has been the Special Assistant to the Chairman and CEO of NASD (National Association of Securities Dealers).

Mr. Vinelli is also an adjunct professor at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, where he teaches a second year course for MBA students entitled “Financial Markets: Institutions, Innovations and Regulations.” He earned the 2007 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Faculty teaching.

Andrés Vinelli has received his B.A. in economics at Universidad de San Andrés (Argentina) and his master’s and Ph.D. degrees in public policy at Harvard University.
