Alison Aughinbaugh is an economist at the US Bureau of Labor Statistics in the group responsible for the National Longitudinal Surveys (NLS). The NLS follow individuals over their lifetimes and collect information on respondents' educational decisions, employment, income, marriages, and fertility. Alison's research focuses on child development and well-being; her current research projects include examining the effect of marital transitions on the test scores of children and adolescents and on women's labor supply, the effect maternal employment on adolescent risk-taking behaviors, and the effect of family income on child development. She has published articles in the American Economic Review, Journal of Human Resources, and Labour Economics.
