Research and clinical experts at Georgetown University Medical Center continue to monitor news and information regarding the H1N1(swine) flu outbreak. This document will be updated throughout the week with names and contact information of experts prepared to comment to members of the press. We are working with faculty members from a variety of schools and departments at GUMC including the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing & Health Studies, and the department of microbiology and immunology.
Experts:
Jeanne A. Matthews, PhD, RN, assistant professor of nursing at Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies, is immediate past chair of the Public Health Nursing Section of the American Public Health Association. Related to swine flu, Matthews is able to discuss public health measures that individuals and communities should take to prevent disease transmission, as well as the general topic of communicable disease control.
