Georgetown to Host Expert Panel Discussion on the Aftermath of Nuclear Disaster

WHAT:
“Attribution: Post-Nuclear Event:" a panel discussion on the aftermath of nuclear disaster

Panelists will first address the realities of a nuclear event, such as the detonation of a nuclear weapon by terrorists in a populated urban center, focusing on the ramifications of such a nuclear attack and how first responders and local authorities can best react in its aftermath. They will also discuss the issue of nuclear attribution; specifically, the mechanics of tracing the "nuclear signature" of fissile materials used in a nuclear explosion and identifying the facility that produced it.
