Low Wage Earners in a Tough Economy
An interview with Harry Holzer
February 26, 2009

Georgetown Public Policy Institute professor Harry Holzer studies low-wage earners, including single parents, the formerly incarcerated, and other groups who constitute the working poor.  He focuses on men, particularly those with criminal records who are having trouble finding work, and low-income divorced fathers who pay child support but who do not benefit from tax breaks for parents.  He discusses how his background as the Chief Economist in the Department of Labor during the Clinton Administration prepared him for this work, and how his research and teaching today have a real-world impact in the lives of low-wage workers.
