Can Government Work? Georgetown Public Policy Institute to Host Symposium on Current Public Policy Challenges

More than a dozen distinguished experts will discuss solutions to three of the most vexing public policy problems we face today: rising health care costs despite millions of uninsured Americans; global warming; and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen will give the keynote address.

President Obama has called for a stronger federal government role in broadening health insurance while controlling costs, diversifying energy sources and reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and stimulating economic growth. Leading policy experts will discuss how the new administration might accomplish these goals at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute's (GPPI) symposium “Can Government Work?”
