Personalized Medicine
An Interview with Robert Clarke
July 30, 2008

Oncology professor Robert Clarke discusses the research being conducted in medical treatments for patients based on their personal characteristics; genetic inheritance, lifestyle, diet, environment, hormones, obesity and other factors.

Robert Clarke, Ph.D., D.Sc., Professor of Oncology studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms driving antiestrogen resistance and hormone independence in breast cancer. He also is interested in cytotoxic drug resistance, drug/hormone interactions, and the application of molecular profiling (e.g., gene expression microarrays, tissue microarrays) to predict breast cancer phenotypes and identify functionally relevant gene signaling networks.
