An Interview with David Edelstein

Security studies professor David Edelstein discusses his book "Occupational Hazards: Successes and Failure in Military Occupation," which examines 26 cases of outside powers seizing control.

David M. Edelstein is an assistant professor in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and the Department of Government. In addition, he is a core faculty member in the Security Studies Program and the Center for Peace and Security Studies. His areas of expertise are international security, international relations and U.S. foreign policy. Edelstein's current research is primarily focused on the history of military occupations, including current U.S. occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
