PBS-TV Host and Travel Writer Rick Steves to Speak at Georgetown
WHO:
Travel writer, PBS-TV host, and Seattle businessman Rick Steves will be speaking at Georgetown University on how travel expands our world view and shapes how we address the challenges confronting our nation politically.

Steves owns the Edmonds-based company, Europe Through the Back Door, where he produces 30 guidebooks on European travel, the popular “Rick Steves’ Europe” public television series, a weekly hour-long public radio show which airs all over the U.S., and a weekly column syndicated by the Chicago Tribune.
WHAT:
"Travel as a Political Act”: A Speech by Rick Steves

In his lecture to the Georgetown community, Rick Steves will share what he’s learned in 30 years of travel and how travel challenges truths we’ve always just assumed were “self-evident and God-given.” In Steves’ words, “today’s travel writer can be much like the medieval court jester--he can bring home the truth and not get killed.”
