Expert commentary by William Gormley

Faculty experts have worked on a variety of research projects relating to children and public policy. Many of them have focused on early childhood education, including research on pre-kindergarten programs, child care programs, and Head Start. William T. Gormley, Jr., University Professor and Co-Director of the Center for Research on Children in the U.S. (CROCUS) at Georgetown University, comments on Head Start and school based pre-kindergarten programs in Tulsa, Okla. as well as the effects of these programs on Hispanic children.

William Gormley is an expert on early childhood education policy, including pre-kindergarten programs and day care centers. Other areas of expertise include education policy, bureaucratic politics, performance measurement, and government regulation.
