Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate Recognized by Catholic Press Association

Washington, D.C. – The CARA Report, a quarterly newsletter providing critical research on American Catholics and the Catholic Church in the United States published by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate at Georgetown University, was recently recognized by the Catholic Press Association. For the third time in five years, The CARA Report was recognized for general excellence receiving a first place award in the category of special interest newsletters.

The Catholic Press Association noted, “the CARA Report is fascinating to anyone who reads it because of how well presented the information is. Lots of graphics help explain a variety of research findings on many topics, and overall, it presents itself as a one-stop shop for information on trends in both the church and in larger society that will affect the church. Consistency of layout and color, and clarity of writing enable it to accomplish the difficult feat of presenting a lot of important information in a complete, interesting, and uncluttered way.”

“We are honored to be recognized again by the Catholic Press Association,” said Mary Gautier, senior research associate at CARA and editor of The CARA Report. “This is a great acknowledgement by our peers and we appreciate the continued recognition.”

The Catholic Press Association's Awards Program recognizes the accomplishments and contributions made in the industry. Through the Awards Program, the CPA acknowledges individuals and publication teams for their outstanding work as members of the Catholic press.
