Edward Hirsch to Receive Honorary Degree from Georgetown University
WHO:

Georgetown University will present an honorary degree to Edward Hirsch.  Hirsch has earned a reputation as a distinguished scholar of poetry, and he currently serves as President of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.  His best-selling book, “How to Read a Poem and Fall in Love with Poetry,” has become a primer for countless students of the art of poetry.

WHAT:

Dr. Hirsch will deliver remarks and be presented with the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, during the Georgetown University Fall Faculty Convocation.
